This article guides the user on how to edit the Global Template for Catalog Price Rules
The Global Template is a feature that allows the user to utilize regional and marketplace rules for pricing.
Enabling Regional & Marketplace Price Rules for an Item via Catalog
This feature should be enabled on a per-item basis. To enable this feature for a specific product, first the user must navigate to this specific product's settings in Catalog. Next, under the "Price" subtab the first option "Use the Global Template" must be selected. Now this Item will utilize the Global Template price rules
After this option is selected, the Item will now use the settings that are configured under Global Settings > Catalog > Price Rules. There the you will find that you can add rules by region or (if you want more granularity) by marketplaces (region-specific).
Editing the Global Template Price Rules
First the user must navigate to the Global Settings by clicking on the cogwheel at the lower left hand side of the screen. For more details on how to navigate to your Workspace / Global Settings this read this article.
Next the user must navigate to the Catalog subtab and then to the "Price Rules" section.
Then the user will see a template where they can edit rules for regions and for marketplaces.
Marketplace rules are more granular than regional rules. For instance, if a user creates a rule for a region, this rule applies to all marketplaces inside that region while marketplace rules apply only to the specific marketplace (e.g. Rules for Amazon USA and Amazon CA or Amazon MX are different). Any marketplace rules for set for a specific marketplace will override regional marketplaces (for the specific marketplace set).
Price rules in the Global Template can be set either by amount or percentage.
To add new rules, navigate to the bottom of the screen and click on either the "+ Region Rule" or "+ Marketplace Rule" buttons.
