Understanding Tactical Warehousing Credential Types and Inventory Issues

This article explains the different credential types required for Tactical Warehousing integration, why you might see "missing credentials" errors, and how this relates to inventory visibility issues.

Credential Types for Tactical Warehousing

Tactical Warehousing uses two separate credential systems:

  1. 3PL Next Credentials - Required for core D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) operations
  2. Legacy Portal Credentials - Used for additional functionality like B2B shipping

Common Issue: Missing Credentials Error

Symptom

When checking a client account, you may see an error similar to: #3pl@123# Client ID: 211 indicating missing credentials.

Explanation

This error typically indicates that the "legacy" credentials for the Tactical Warehousing portal (https://tacticalwarehousing.com/account/login) have not been set up.

Important Note

For standard D2C operations, these legacy credentials are NOT required. The system can operate normally with only the 3PL Next credentials properly configured.

Related Issue: Inventory Not Showing

If inventory is not appearing for a client connected to Tactical Warehousing, check for:

  1. 3PL Next Credentials - Verify these are properly configured
  2. Catalog/Store Connection - Ensure the account has a catalog or store properly connected

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Confirm 3PL Next credentials are properly set up
  2. Verify catalog/store connections are in place for the account
  3. Only set up Legacy Portal credentials if the client requires B2B shipping or other advanced features
