Shipping Address Best Practices
This guide outlines the proper format for entering shipping addresses in our system to avoid delivery issues and errors such as "STREETLINES.TOO.LONG" or other FedEx/carrier validation failures.
Address Format Guidelines
Address Line 1
- Keep it simple: Include only the street number and street name
 - Avoid special characters: Don't use symbols that aren't part of the official address
 - Be concise: Street address should be clear and direct
 - Example:
123 Main Street
Address Line 2
- Use for additional information: Apartment numbers, suite numbers, floor numbers
 - Building identifiers: Unit numbers, building names, or internal locations
 - Example:
Apt 4BorSuite 300
Address Line 3 (if available)
- Use for delivery instructions or facility details: Such as "City of Irvine Warehouse Bldg 3"
 - Keep this information separate from the main address line

City, State, Zip
- Verify state abbreviations: Ensure you're using the correct two-letter state code
 - Check zip/postal code: Must match the city and state

Phone Number
- Format consistently: Use a standard format without special characters
 - Include area code: Always include the area code with the phone number
 - Example:
5551234567or(555) 123-4567
Common Issues to Avoid
- Overly long address lines: Keep address lines under the character limit
 - Incorrect state abbreviations: Double-check official two-letter codes
 - Missing apartment/suite numbers: Include these in Address Line 2, not Line 1
 - Special delivery instructions in Address Line 1: Move these to notes or Address Line 3
 - Incorrect zip codes: Verify zip code matches the city and state
