Handling Prepaid Labels with Honu Fulfillment

When orders are fulfilled through Honu using prepaid labels (provided by the merchant), the orders may remain in "Pending Fulfillment" status in Skupreme even after being processed and closed in Honu.

Root Cause

The issue occurs because:

  1. Merchant provides a prepaid label to Honu for shipping
  2. Honu processes the order but doesn't enter the tracking number in their system
  3. Without tracking information, Skupreme cannot automatically update the order status to "Shipped"

Solutions

Option 1: Honu Enters Tracking Information

  • Request Honu to enter the tracking number in their system
  • When Honu enters the tracking number, Skupreme will automatically pull this information
  • This option requires cooperation from Honu (may incur additional fees)

Option 2: Manual Status Update in Skupreme

For merchants who cannot use Option 1:

  1. Change the order status from "Pending Fulfillment" to "Pending Shipment"
  2. Add tracking information manually using the sidebar
  3. Skupreme will then forward the tracking to the marketplace and mark the order as "Shipped"

Note: This process must be repeated for each order and can be tedious for high-volume merchants.

Option 3: Label Injection (Recommended)

The most efficient solution is to use Skupreme's label injection feature:

  • Upload the prepaid label when sending the order to Honu
  • Skupreme will extract the tracking information and forward it appropriately
  • The order status will update automatically without manual intervention

Implementation Details

For the Label Injection option:

  1. Ensure "Manual Mode" is enabled for your account
  2. When processing an order for Honu fulfillment, use the sidebar to upload the prepaid label
  3. The system will extract the tracking number and associate it with the order
  4. When Honu marks the order as processed, Skupreme will automatically update the marketplace with the tracking information

Best Practices

  • Always use the Label Injection method (Option 3) when possible to prevent orders from being stuck in "Pending Fulfillment"
  • If using Options 1 or 2, create a regular process to check for orders that might be stuck in an incorrect status
  • Consider working with your Skupreme account manager to optimize your fulfillment workflow
