Import Your Product Catalog Using CSV

The CSV import feature allows new SKUPREME users to rapidly migrate existing product catalogs during onboarding.

How to Import Your Catalog

Step 1: Access the Import Feature

During the onboarding process, look for the "Import via CSV" button on Step 3: Sync Your First Marketplace.

Step 2: Download the Template (Optional)

We recommend downloading our CSV template to ensure correct data formatting. The template includes all required fields and examples.

Step 3: Prepare Your CSV File

Format your product data according to the template guidelines:

  • Include all required fields
  • Match expected data types (numbers, text, dates)
  • Properly encode special characters
  • Use headers that match template specifications

Step 4: Upload Your File

Click "Browse" to locate your prepared CSV file, then select "Upload" to begin the import process.

Step 5: Review and Confirm

SKUPREME will display a preview of the data to be imported. Review this information to ensure accuracy before proceeding.

Step 6: Complete the Import

Click "Confirm Import" to finalize the process. SKUPREME will process your file and add the products to your catalog.

Step 7: Verify the Results

Once complete, check your catalog to ensure all products were imported correctly.

Best Practices

  • Clean Your Data: Review for inconsistencies, duplicates, or errors before importing
  • Test with a Subset: For large catalogs, consider testing with a smaller group first
  • Use Unique SKUs: Ensure each product has a unique identifier
  • Include All Critical Fields: Providing complete information maximizes functionality
  • Back Up Your Original Data: Always maintain a copy of your original product information

Troubleshooting

CSV Format Issues

If your import fails due to formatting errors, ensure your CSV file:

  • Uses UTF-8 encoding
  • Follows the template structure exactly
  • Has correct column headers
  • Contains no special characters in column headers

Missing Products

If some products weren't imported, check that they:

  • Don't contain invalid characters
  • Don't exceed field length limits
  • Have all required fields completed

Duplicate SKUs

If you receive duplicate SKU warnings:

  • Review your file for products with identical SKUs
  • Make all SKUs unique before reimporting
  • Consider using a product identifier mapping system
