Creating a Manual Order

Learn how to manually create an Order

Manual Order Creation

To create a manual order, the user must first navigate to the Order Module by clicking on "Orders" in the left-hand navigation pane.

Once in the Orders Module, the user will see a button labeled "+ Order" near the top right corner of the screen.

Click on this button to begin the creation process for a Manual Order.

Next, complete the Order Details for this manual order. Once all required fields are filled in, simply click the "Save Order" button to finalize.

After clicking this button, you should get a message stating the manual order was created successfully.

Fulfilling Manual Orders

Please note that after creating a manual order, fulfillment must be completed manually, as it does not occur automatically. This ensures you can select from multiple storage providers, allowing flexibility in managing inventory across various locations.

The order will now appear in the "Pending Shipment" section of your Orders Module. To proceed, select the checkbox next to this order. From here, you’ll have several options available to manage the shipment.

The first option is to Create a Shipping Label for the Order.

Note: Often but not always, the user will be prompted to validate an address before a Shipping Label is created. This happens when the system detects errors with the address (in order to prevent errors during the shipping process).

Inputting Package Details and Generating Labels

Accurate package details are crucial for generating correct shipping labels.

1. Verify Package Attributes

  • Check Item Details:

    • Confirm item dimensions (length, width, height) and weight.
    • Ensure attributes align with the actual product specifications.
  • Update Attributes if Necessary:

    • Go to the catalog section in SKUPREME: Catalog Link.
    • Update dimensions and weight under the "Package Attributes" tab.
  • Double-check Attribute Accuracy:

    • Ensure dimensions and weights reflect a single unit unless dealing with multi-unit orders.

2. Using the Public Link for Label Generation

  • Understand the Public Link Override:

    • When generating labels via the public link, SKUPREME does not use internal algorithms to calculate final dimensions or weights.
    • Input on the public link page is treated as the definitive values for the label.
  • Input Final Dimensions and Weights:

    • Multiply the dimensions and weights of a single unit by the total quantity (e.g., 6 units).
    • Enter these values on the public link page.
  • Verify Before Submission:

    • Confirm that the entered dimensions and weights match the total quantity of the items being shipped.

3. Generating Labels in SKUPREME

  • Navigate to the Public Link:

    • Access the order’s Public link.
      • Public Link Example: https://app.skupreme.com/public/order/?token=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiI
  • Input Package Information:

    • Enter accurate dimensions and weight for the total quantity.
  • Generate and Download the Label:

    • Confirm the details and generate the label.
    • Verify the label reflects the total package attributes.

Manually Ship Orders

The user can also check the box "Manually Ship Order" if they wish to skip the label creation process. This is in order to update the order status and input tracking information without going through the label creation process.

Batch Orders

Another option is to add the Order to an existing batch or to create a new batch. In order for the user to be able to create a new batch, more than one order must be selected.

If you wish to learn more about Batch Orders, read this article.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE: For Amazon, Orders have a limit of 250 units per order. If you wish to create a Manual Order with a quantity of units higher than 250, then the order must be divided into suborders of maximum 250 units each, in order for the Order to proceed.

Common Issues and Resolutions

  • Issue: Incorrect Attributes Affect Pricing

    • Resolution: Update dimensions and weights under the catalog or public link and regenerate the label.
  • Issue: Label Generated for Single Unit Instead of Total Quantity

    • Resolution: Manually calculate total dimensions and weights and input them into the public link.
  • Issue: Misalignment Between Catalog and Public Link Attributes

    • Resolution: Ensure consistency between catalog updates and public link inputs.

Best Practices

  • Always verify dimensions and weights against the actual items before inputting them into SKUPREME.
  • Use the public link override only when manual adjustments are necessary.
  • Communicate any discrepancies or unclear processes to the team lead or relevant stakeholders.
